Background

AGL Hydro was established as a result of the disaggregation of the former State Electricity Commission of Victoria. AGL operates hydroelectric power stations in Victoria and NSW, with the three primary schemes located in the Kiewa, Dartmouth and Eildon catchments.

Each of AGL's generating schemes are located on different river catchments, enabling AGL to maintain operational flexibility. Control of all generating plants is from a central facility situated at Mt Beauty, Victoria.

AGL employs a number of H.V. operators that require initial and refresher training in permit, recipient and high voltage switching.

Our role

AGL appointed Thomson Bridge to develop and deliver a tailored suite of training programs that would address the following:

Delivery of consistent and AGL specific training across the HV operator work force

Tailored curriculum materials and processes that draw on the relevant procedures, drawings and manuals used at the AGL sites

Acknowledgement of successful completion of training via the issuing of relevant national Units of Competency
