The course will prepare attendees for incident management and how to perform WTG rescues in the simplest, safest, most efficient way possible. Training addresses the use of stretchers, casualty management and lifting and lowering techniques from the turbine using industry specific equipment. Topics covered include:
Relevant Legislation and Standards
Scene assessment and reporting
Select appropriate equipment for the rescue
Check, service and maintain vertical rescue equipment
Work within team roles and responsibilities
Casualty assessment and packaging
Escort stretchers in raising and lowering operations
Safety factors and Safe Working Loads of equipment
Establish vertical rescue systems
Ascending and descending systems
Haul lines and mechanical advantage
Vertical rescue concepts and practices.
Four days for Initial and two days for Refresher. The course can vary in duration dependant on your needs however we always aim to end the course with scenario days on the turbines to ensure familiarity with rescue from those areas.
Maximum for theory is 8. Maximum for practical exercises is 4.
Equipment & PPE
For practical exercises, attendees will be required to have access to your Site based Heights equipment and personal kit including harness and helmet.
Demonstration of practical skills. Role play/scenario work. Written and practical assessments.
