Description

This Course covers the performance of rescue procedures from live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus in the work place. It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution, rail or wind farm work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for health, safety and risk management processes and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of performing work.

HLTAID001 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Can be co-delivered)

Course aim

This course provides participants with the necessary skills to provide immediate emergency response in the event of a low voltage electric shock.

Learning activities

Trainer led presentations, group discussions, practical demonstrations & exercises. The Course covers
Electrical hazards,
Electric shock response procedures
Site emergency procedures,
Low Voltage Rescue Kit – contents and inspection requirements,
Effective use of a fire blanket to extinguish flames,
Effective use of the items contained in the low voltage rescue kit,
Brief review of CPR requirements,
Practical performance of a simulated rescue, using the fire blanket and low voltage rescue kit.

The Course covers the following topics:
Electrical hazards
Electric shock response procedures
Site emergency procedures
Low Voltage Rescue Kit – contents and inspection requirements
Effective use of a fire blanket to extinguish flames
Effective use of the items contained in the low voltage rescue kit
Brief review of CPR requirements
Practical performance of a simulated rescue, using the fire blanket and low voltage rescue kit, as well as performing CPR.

Duration

Half day or can be combined with other Courses.
