Global Head of Learning

Experience

Zak brings over 25 years of experience in education and training for the energy industry in the United States, Middle East, and Oceania.  With a background in transmission system operation and maintenance, he has held various roles ranging from trainer and college faculty to curriculum developer and manager to senior executive providing training services abroad.

In previous roles, Zak was responsible for the operation and management of the National Power Academy in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.  This academy, spearheaded by Saudi Aramco, provides training for Saudi nationals on six technical electrical transmission and distribution trades.  As an educator, Zak has built numerous academic degree programs and custom industry training programs for energy crafts and trades around the world.  He has been a pioneer in developing interactive learning tools, simulation, and remote hands-on training for use in the classroom and online, often working with industry and regulatory bodies to push the limit of online learning.  His technical work has allowed him to develop and integrate SCADA and industrial control systems, deploy demand response systems and smart grid systems, and he holds two patents related to electrical shock mitigation on transmission line worksites.

At Thomson Bridge, Zak leverages these experiences to ensure our customers, from our local utilities to global multinationals, receive world-class education and training that is accurate, efficient, relevant, engaging, and most importantly ensures the safety of our workforce.
