Thomson Bridge Scholarship holder helping skills shortage in cable jointing.

We’re proud to announce our 2022 William Thomson Scholarship holder Daniel Keir, an electrical cable jointer with 8 years of experience in UK, who has found employment with Power Cables while studying to gain his Certificate III in ESI Cable Jointing.

He follows the same path as Will Griffiths, last year’s scholarship holder who graduated with a Certificate III in ESI Cable Jointing and has found full time employment with Power Cables.

The William Thomson Scholarship is awarded annually and covers tuition costs up to $10,000 for an adult worker seeking a qualification in the Electrical Supply Industry. We support and mentor an experienced worker in the ESI, to formally recognise existing skills and experience and gain new skill opportunities via nationally recognised qualifications..
